A caravan holiday is the perfect alternative holiday if you’re a little short of cash.
And it’s one that the whole family can enjoy. That is, if you do it correctly. Every year, many caravan holidays are spoilt because people forget to take the essentials.
To help ensure you take everything you need, we’ve put together a list of caravan holiday essentials that you can’t afford to forget.
A torch – Sure, your caravan is hooked up to a power source, so you aren’t going to need a torch, are you? Wrong.
The campsite you’re in might not be very well lit in the evening, and what if you need to fix something on the exterior during the night? Or perhaps you want to go on a night time stroll? A torch will prove invaluable.
Bed linen and towels – If you’re hiring a caravan, more often than not, both towels and linens will be provided for. But there are a couple of things you’ll want to consider. The first is how long are you hiring for. If it’s for a two or 3 weeks, then you’re going to need more than one set of bed linen and towels. The second is this – who may have used the items before you. Sure, they’ll have been cleaned. But you may just prefer to take your own.
Kitchen equipment – The same goes with kitchen equipment. Chances are, the basics will be provided. But these often go missing or are faulty. If you’re going for a long stay, it might be best to take your own along with you.
Entertainment – If you’re staying at a holiday campsite there’s going to be lots going on and plenty to do. But some of it may rely on the weather. Take some form of rainy day entertainment with you for those days you don’t want to leave the caravan.
GPS/Maps – If you’re heading from campsite to campsite through the holiday then make sure you take maps or a GPS system. Getting lost out on the roads can quickly ruin a holiday. If you have a GPS system you can quickly get back on the right route.
So, those are our essentials for your next caravan holiday. Make sure you don’t forget any of them!
